The
FIFA president Sepp Blatter has yesterday congratulated Nigeria for the
successes recorded in 2013 alone. This message was delivered by the former NFF Vice president,
Amanze
Uchegbu-lam in Warri during the charity match between Enyimba and Kano Pillars which ended 2-0 in favour of Eyimba.
This is rather positive change for Nigeria
football unlike the message received in 2011 Congress, which was for peace to
reign in our football, following the many litigations that the NFF was going
through.
Then
Amanze said that “this year the result of peace could be seen in the
achievement recorded in the Nation Cup victory, world Cup qualification and the
U-17 victory in UAE".
Meanwhile,
Nigeria has dropped from 33rd spot to 36th in the latest world
football ranking remaining 4th in Africa.
