Following
the defection of some governors in the G7 group of PDP including Governor Rabiu
Kwankwaso of Kano State into APC yesterday,
there are strong indications that
the leadership of APC are considering giving governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano
State and Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State the chance to run for 2015
Presidential election.
The
decision was based on the fact that Kwankwaso who is from a densely populated
Kano and having performed excellently as a governor, therefore will be a great
influence. Governor Fashola’s performance in Lagos was also taken into
consideration in making him the running mate not minding the fact that both are
Muslims.
Reference
was however made to1993 when it was Moshood Abiola and Babagana Kingibe who
were both Muslims and they ran for election and won.
