According to the reports from
Cairo Egypt, A winter storm brought snow to the city of Cairo Egypt, a place
known for heat and sand.
The snow described as the worst
snowstorm in more than 50 years hit the Middle East, blanketing Cairo, Jerusalem
and areas of Syria in white powder. It was the first time in 100 years that
Egypt had seen snow (Mashable).
Instagram quickly filled with
images of snowball fights and landscapes, but in areas like Palestine, some
were caught off guard. The United Nations expressed concern for refugees caught
in the cold, but many families are ineligible for help because they are not
registered with the UN, according to Al Jazeera.
I heard that it happened unexpectedly
on Wednesday (11/12/2013) over night. Wow, how I wish we wake up tomorrow
morning here in Nigeria and find snow everywhere. Do you want it in Nigeria?
Egyptians were delighted to see
the snow as some of them have never seen such thing before and to expressed their
amazement, they took to social media; Twitter, Facebook and Instagram in words
and shared pictures.
See some of the pictures of the
icy storm found on friends’ social media after the cut…
