Update On Ebola Virus In Nigeria: Lagos Doctor That Treated Liberian Sawyer Has Tested +ve To The Virus (SAD)

Do you remember the liberian Patrick Sawyer, the one died of Ebola virus last week in lagos? Okay! You won't believe that one of the doctors that treated the man has tested positive to the virus.

According to the Nigeria Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, who revealed this today (Monday, 4/8/2014) and also said that eight people who had first degree contact with the Liberian have been quarantined and are under strict observation.

So sadden, the doctor who performed his duty of life saving, unaware that he'd exposed himself to Ebola, would have gone home to give his wife a kiss and hugged his children. Only God can help us.

Chukwu also revealed the plans of the Fed. to constitute a team to find the cure for Ebola. A member of the team, he said, is professor of pharmacognosy and former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Maurice Iwu.

But he could not confirm reports that a corpse brought into the country from Liberia had the deadly virus.

"Samples have been taken from the corpse and the result would be available today," He said.

It is imperative that you report any case of Ebola in your area if notice it to stop the further spread. May God help us and protect us.
