Ethiopia so much believes in
winning play-off against Super Eagle of Nigeria, the holder of 2013 Africa Cup
of Nations. Ethiopia never sees Nigeria as obstacle to their dream land (First
World Cup outing in Brazil) instead they have been hoping for whom to play
against in 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Ethiopia who suffered defeat
in the hands of Super Eagles in just concluded Africa Nations Cup said through
one of their prayers, Menyahil Teshome that they will defeat Super Eagle.
Star player Menyahil said this
to Amharic Magazine who plays for Dedebit, in the Ethiopian league that,
“Nigeria are a good side. We played them at the Nations Cup in Africa and they
defeated us. But we fought on that day. We know them and are confident that we
are going to defeat them to qualify for our first World Cup.
“We are counting on our fans to
help us achieve this objective. In fact, we are already seeing beyond Nigeria.
It is the World Cup we are preparing for, where we hope to play against Spain
and Argentina on the field. We believe that our dream will be realised”, he
concluded.
Well, the game of football is
changing all round the world; there is no small or big team/club again.
Whatever, 90min will judge! But in my own humble opinion, playing Africa
champion will not be easy for Ethiopia and for the fact that Super Eagle missed
last World Cup, they will do everything possible to make it to this year’s edition.
However, football is a game of anyone and anybody or team can win.
I wish my own Super Eagle all
the best because I wouldn’t like watching 2014 W’Cup without the Super Eagle.
