Ethiopia/Nigeria: Eagles Close to W’Cup in Brazil

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday defeated Ethiopia 2-1 in 2014 World Cup playoffs match in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.


The match ended 0-0 in the first half. Asafa’s 57th minute’s goal set the host in lead before Emenike’s goal in the 67th minutes of playing.

The African Champion, Super Eagles came back from a goal deficit to give themselves a strong chance to play in next year World Cup in Brazil with Emmanuel Emenike’s second goal via penalty.

Ethiopia is expected to come to Nigeria on 16th of November this year for the second leg of the match.

Ethiopia before the match believed so much that Super Eagles are not threat to their qualification; they started their training middle of last month and even hoping to play against Spain and Argentina in the world cup next year.
