Superr Eagles Of Nigeria Draw Scotland 2-2 In First Pre-World Cup Friendly

Uche Nwofor's goal on the stroke of full-time denied Scotland victory against Nigeria in an entertaining affair at Craven Cottage.

The Scots had got off to a flying start when Charlie Mulgrew smartly flicked in James Morrison's shot on ten minutes, however, they were pegged back before the break.

And Gordan Strachan's side could have gone two up when Grant Hanley headed home, however, the referee denied the goal for a foul by the defender on goalkeeper Austin Ejide.

Nigeria responded to their slice of luck by finding an equaliser in desperately fortuitous circumstances as Michael Uchebo's effort was viciously deflected to leave Allan McGregor totally wrongfooted.

Azubuike Egwuekwe's own goal turned the game back on its head as Scotland again took the lead after excellent work from Alan Hutton.

Shaun Maloney also had a strike correctly disallowed after he tapped in Hutton's cross from an offside position.

Strachan's side continued to look susceptible at the back and conceded late on as Hanley's poor clearance ricocheted off Nnamdi Oduamadi and fell invitingly for Nwofor to drill home.  source: talksport
