Shocker: Five Nigerians included in the list of 2013 CAF African footballer of the year nominees, Victor Moses excluded.

It is rather shocking that Victor Moses did not make the list of Nigerian players nominated for 2013 CAF African footballer of the year. Below is the list of the nominees
.

The five players enlisted from the Super Eagles of Nigeria are:
Vincent Enyeama (GK)
 Ahmed Musa (FW)
 Emmanuel Emenike (FW)
 John Mikel Obi (MD)
 Sunday Mba (MD)
It said that 25 players made the cut for the flagship African Player of the Year category, and 21 made the African Player of the Year, based in Africa.

The reigning African Player of the Year, Ivorian Yaya Toure, two of his compatriots, Didier Drogba and Yao Kouassi Gervais ‘Gervinho’ made the exalted list of African footballers.
Two players each from Ghana, Egypt, Cape Verde and Algeria also made the African Player of the Year category.

There was one nominee each from Senegal, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Mali, Ehiopia, Guinea, Cameroon, Morocco and Gabon.

The list of nominees for CAF’s African Player of the Year, based in Africa, included the reigning Mohamed Aboutrika of Egypt, and only Nigeria’s Sunday Mba made the list.
Four players from Tunisia’s local league made the second list; while Cameroon, Egypt and South-Africa have three nominees each.

Ehiopia has two, while Cote D’Ivoire, Tanzania, Zambia, DR Congo, Nigeria and Mali have a nominee each.
The winners for both categories will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 in Lagos.
